Rob Jamieson has been with the firm since inception in 2009. He left one of Florida’s oldest and most prestigious law firms along with nine other attorneys to establish Guerra & Partners as one of the leading commercial litigation boutiques in Florida. Rob is a seasoned trial lawyer who has litigated through final hearing numerous FINRA arbitrations. He litigates all manner of commercial disputes with a focus on the financial services industry. He has extensive experience advising and representing brokerage firms, financial institutions, registered representatives, investment advisors, and other financial industry participants in arbitrations, state and federal court proceedings, administrative proceedings, and regulatory actions. His representative experience includes:

  • Co-counsel in obtaining a $4.2 million arbitration award and complete dismissal of $7.8 million in counterclaims, and subsequent confirmation of the arbitration award over a motion to vacate;
  • Dismissal of FINRA claims due to ineligibility;
  • Successful defense of FINRA arbitrations;
  • Expungement of disclosures from CRD Records/BrokerCheck;
  • Representation of an SEC appointed receiver;
  • Responding to and defending against State, Federal, and self-regulatory organization enforcement actions and inquiries;
  • Commercial contract disputes;
  • Insurance disputes;
  • Derivative actions;
  • Non-compete disputes; and
  • Unfair Trade Practice claims.

Rob’s keen analytical abilities, incisive writing, and zealous yet affable nature have proven invaluable to his clients and other lawyers with whom he works.

Rob is an active member of the legal and local communities. He has been a member of the Wm. Reece Smith, Jr. Litigation American Inn of Court since its founding in 2013 and has served as Chair of the Securities Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association. He is a member of the Financial Markets Association and SIFMA and, in 2021, joined the Board of Governors of the Florida Securities Dealers Association. Rob has also featured as a speaker at events hosted by the Financial Markets Association, the Financial Services Institute (“Spotlight on Variable Annuity L Shares”), and the ABA Securities Litigation Committee (“Current Issues in FINRA Arbitration and Enforcement”).

In the community, Rob is a passionate supporter of the Children’s Dream Fund – a wish granting organization for seriously ill children with which he has been involved since 2010. He joined the Children’s Dream Fund Board of Directors in 2019 and is currently serving as Chairman of the Board.

Before practicing law, Rob graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida Warrington College of Business (B.S.B.A., Economics), and obtained his law degree cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. An avid Gators fan, Rob earned distinctions in trial practice, legal writing and research, and appellate advocacy while at UF Law. As a native of Manchester, England, Rob has also pursued legal studies in his homeland at University of Oxford.
