Guerra & Partners’ DEI Committee hosted a “History and Happy Hour” firm social in celebration of Juneteenth on June 17, 2022. History and Happy Hour began at the Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American Museum in St. Petersburg, where attendees learned about the history of the Woodson museum and area, as well as fundraising efforts to build a new African American history museum in St. Pete. The mission of the Woodson museum is two-fold:
– To preserve, present, and interpret African American history and to engage a broad and diverse audience through these activities.
– To promote an understanding among various groups that comprise the St. Petersburg community to enhance our ability as a society to respect, value diversity, and foster equal rights and social justice.
After the museum tour, attendees headed to Copa, a Black-owned tapas-style restaurant in St. Pete.
