HAWL YLD Creates Therapy Garden For Rose Manor Residents
On February 10, 2022, The Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers’ Young Lawyers Division (“YLD”), co-chaired by Guerra & Partners associate Ailen Cruz and GrayRobinson associate Hannah Becker, hosted its Plant Some Love Reveal Event at Tampa Crossroads’ Rose Manor.
The YLD created a therapy garden for the residents of Rose Manor. YLD members and Rose Manor residents teamed up to add three benches, garden beds with herbs and vegetables that residents can harvest, and a colorful variety of flowers and plants native to Florida. The group then enjoyed lunch while they listened to a lesson on plants native to Florida by Anita Camacho of Little Red Wagon Native Nursery, followed by a butterfly release.
The event was made possible by a generous grant and support from the Florida Bar’s Young Lawyers Division. In addition, a number of local law firms, attorneys, judges, community members and businesses generously provided sponsorships and donations. Little Red Wagon Native Nursery provided recommendations as to the best plants to use, transported the plants to Rose Manor, and directed all of the gardening.
The YLD was thrilled to support Rose Manor, the only affordable licensed & accredited treatment provider exclusively for women in Hillsborough County. Rose Manor has been offering holistic health services to women for over 25 years in its historic family home, which was built in 1903.
